A very happy and healthy new year 2012 to everyone. We hope you had a safe and happy holiday season.
New B-License Requirements (USPA)
Beginning January 1, 2012, the USPA B-license requirements will change to include additional canopy training. Each license application will require a completed and signed USPA Canopy Piloting Proficiency Card. The canopy training is outlined in Sections 6-10 and 6-11 of the Skydiver’s Information Manual. A copy of the card is included in the SIM, as well as available from the USPA website as a download. A USPA Safety & Training Advisor must verify the training has been completed and sign the card before it is submitted to USPA. The card outlines the training requirements for a series of five jumps, which can be completed together as a one-time course or conducted separately over a series of days. SIM Section 6-11 includes guidelines for conducting the course, including who may provide the training to course candidates.
News from Start Skydiving Florida:
Happy New Year everybody!! We had a lovely unofficial reunion of sorts in Sebastian, FL for a New Years Eve party with many of our wonderful friends and coworkers from Start Skydiving up in the north pole.
Fun was had, laughter was abundant, and plans were made for the next exciting year ahead.
It was a busy week in Florida with quite a diverse group of customers! We had people from 17 different states and 3 countries come out and jump with us this week. The UC Skydiving Club came out on Tuesday to jump and enjoy the warmer weather before hitting the wind tunnel in Orlando. Clint got a ride in a police cruiser with his tandem student when he landed off and was nicely escorted back to the dropzone, minus the handcuffs.
With the busy holiday season winding down, we’re all looking forward to a little bit of R&R and are thankful we got to spend time with our fantastic friends.
